Squarespace integration
No native Squarespace connector, here is what does work.
Squarespace has no public blog API, so we deliver editor-ready drafts built for fast paste-in publishing.
How it works
Squarespace's public developer API covers commerce: products, orders, and inventory. There is no public API for creating blog posts or pages, a gap confirmed on Squarespace's own forums and in third-party analyses through 2026. Tools that claim automated Squarespace blogging are either paste-based underneath or rely on browser automation that breaks when the editor changes and can violate Squarespace's terms.
We chose the paste-based path and we say so. Each post arrives as a fully formatted, editor-ready draft: headings and links structured to survive the paste, metadata and image files packaged alongside, and a short per-post checklist covering the fields the editor asks for. It is a guided manual step, kept as small as we can make it, not automation we cannot honestly promise.
Best forSquarespace site owners who want the writing, structure, and SEO work done, and can spare a few minutes per post to paste and publish.
Setup, step by step
- Connect your SearchHandled workspace and tell us your Squarespace site URL so links and metadata match your domain.
- Choose your delivery preference, per-post packages or a weekly batch.
- Review the first editor-ready draft, which includes formatted content, metadata, images, and a checklist.
- Paste the content into a new Squarespace blog post, apply the checklist fields, and publish or schedule in the editor.
- Mark the post live in SearchHandled so tracking and internal-link suggestions stay current.
Best practices
Follow the checklist, not memory
Each package includes a short checklist for the fields the Squarespace editor asks for, like the URL slug, excerpt, and SEO description. Working through it takes a couple of minutes and keeps posts consistent.
Use Squarespace's scheduler after pasting
Once a post is pasted in, Squarespace's own scheduling works normally. Set the date from our content calendar so the cadence we planned survives the manual step.
Upload the packaged images as provided
Images arrive sized and named for the post, with alt text listed in the checklist. Uploading them as provided keeps the layout matching the draft and the alt text doing its SEO work.
Avoid third-party automation for the gap
Browser-automation tools that puppet the Squarespace editor break on editor updates and can violate Squarespace's terms. The paste workflow is slower per post but it never breaks and never risks your account.
Known issues
What practitioners actually report, from official docs, issue trackers, and community forums.
No write API for blog posts exists
Every tool claiming Squarespace blog automation is either paste-based underneath or drives a browser against the editor, because the public API covers commerce only.
How we handle itWe chose the paste-based path openly. You get complete, editor-ready packages and a checklist, and we spend our effort making the manual step as short as possible.

Browser automation is fragile and risky
Tools that automate the Squarespace editor break whenever the editor updates and can put accounts at odds with Squarespace's terms of service.
How we handle itWe do not do browser automation against Squarespace, full stop. The guided paste workflow is the reliable path and the one we support.

Import options are manual and lossy
Squarespace's WordPress-format XML import is a manual admin operation and does not carry scheduling cleanly, so it works poorly as a publishing pipeline.
How we handle itOur guided workflow covers when a bulk import is worth it, such as an initial migration, and uses per-post paste-in for ongoing publishing where scheduling matters.

Questions teams ask
- Does Squarespace have a blog API?
No. As of mid-2026 the public developer API covers commerce only, with no endpoints for creating blog posts or pages. Any tool claiming otherwise is pasting or puppeting a browser.
- How long does the manual step take per post?
A few minutes once you have done it twice. The content pastes in formatted, the images are packaged and named, and the checklist covers the remaining editor fields in order.
- Would SearchHandled add real automation if Squarespace ships an API?
Yes. The rest of our pipeline already ends in an API call on other platforms, so if Squarespace ships a content write API we would build the connector and retire the paste step.
